“We gain strength, and courage, and confidence by each experience in which we really stop to look fear in the face… we must do that which we think we cannot.” – Eleanor Roosevelt
You know how we’re challenging ourselves with our personal development this month?
Well, our muscles also need to be challenged in order to grow! It’s not just about adding more and more weight! At some point you’re going to reach a weight that is just too difficult for you to lift with proper form but that doesn’t mean your gains have to stop! Here’s how to challenge those muscles to keep those gains coming!
Do every set with the same amount of weight but do each set with impeccable form. Do the exercises in a mirror and make sure that your feet, hips, joints, etc are where they need to be.
You may unearth that the reason you could lift so much is because your form was off.
Decrease the rest time between sets. Go from 120 seconds to 90 seconds for example.
Do more reps or more sets.
Changing things up, challenging your muscles, is an important way to help those muscles spring to life!
What size weight do you normally workout with?
