Foodie Friday: Lemons!!

These feisty little fruits have some pretty awesome benefits to your health in general, but since we are starting off next week with our Healthy Summer Skin theme…let’s get a head start and talk about how lemons can help in that department!!

🍋A pretty cool thing about lemons is they are beneficial by consumption (eating them) or using the juice and oils topically. How cool is that?


There is strong anecdotal evidence that both lemon oil and lemon juice for skin help reduce inflammation, kill harmful bacteria, and clear the skin of blemishes, discoloration, and acne scars. I can think of several occasions I added some lemon oil to a cleanser or mask to help clear up a break out!

Not just your skin but also your hair loves lemon juice and oil! Lemons have tons

of skin healing properties they are full of essential vitamins and minerals which have potent benefits for the skin.


Starting your day off with a glass of lemon water has innumerable benefits for you internally as well as externally! One of the coolest things it does (in my humble opinion) is increase the amount of collagen in your skin. Yes, that means fewer wrinkles!! So many women burn through supplements to get extra collagen intake and it’s as simple as drinking some lemon water!

We also can’t leave out how beneficial the vitamin C is in lemons since ingesting them can also fight off toxins that cause breakouts!
