“In early June the world of leaf and blade and flowers explode, and every sunset is different.” - John Steinbeck
Welcomeeeee!! We’re jumping right in and kicking off 👟 Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff with our Simple & Safe Summer Tips week!
It seems so obvious to tell y’all to drink water 💁♀️ but it’s SO IMPORTANT during the hotter months! We can get so busy while playing on the shore, going on camping trips ⛺️, taking hikes, and all the other fun outdoor activities we pack into summer. I don’t want anyone to have so much fun that they forget to hydrate themselves 💧 so here’s some things to keep in mind so you stay hydrated!
💦 Don’t wait until your thirsty to drink water.
🍅 Eat water-rich fruits and veggies like melons and tomatoes.
🏡 Stay inside if it gets too hot out there for you.
🍓 Flavor your water so you don’t get tired of drinking it! Below are some ideas!
Take 5 cups of water and add any of these combinations – or make your own – for some fun water flavors this summer!
- ½ cup strawberries, stemmed and sliced, 5 large torn basil leaves, and 1 thinly sliced lemon
- ½ cup frozen honeydew cubes, 1 thinly sliced cucumber, and 10 fresh torn mint leaves
- 1 cup pineapple chunks, 1 cup coconuts chunks, 1 thinly sliced lime
- 1 thinly sliced grapefruit ½ cup pomegranate seeds, and 10 torn fresh mint leaves
❗️And remember that caffeine and alcohol can increase your risk of dehydration so hold off on those beverages until it's a cooler part of the day!
